Who we are.
Who participates
Restore Sight would not be possible without our founder, Dr. Michael Sifri. Since the inception of the program Dr. Sifri has enlisted the help of countless doctors, residents, nurses, and technicians. All of these people donate their time, skills, and love to help bring sight back to the needy.
what we do
Medical care is not always readily available in these developing countries, so we bring them the care every human deserves. Over the years we have treated cataracts on people of all ages, ptosis, lesions, tumors, and blepharoplasty. These life changing operations have the potential to transform lives.
Where we go
We believe in returning to the same countries year after year. Over the years we have been able to help thousands of people in El Salvador and Honduras. By revisiting these locations we can offer ongoing treatment to our patients and build meaningful relationships within the communities.
when we go
The missions that Restore Sight sponsors with the Lions Club are completed on a yearly basis, typically around February or March. Preparations for the missions include gathering surgical supplies and monetary donations as well as coordinating with the local government, all of which require 9-12 months to plan.
About Us
Restore Sight is dedicated to enriching the lives of people in need across the globe with the gift of ophthalmic care. Mission work has been a part of Dr. Michael Sifri's life since 2002, In that time he along with the Lion's Club have had the opportunity to impact over 24,500 people and performed nearly 3,000 surgeries. Seeing the power of this life changing work encouraged Dr. Sifri to start his own nonprofit in 2014, Restore Sight. These surgeries help to give people their lives back. The work that we do benefits the hopeless; the care we offer helps to serve all of humanity. We believe quality medical care is a basic human right, and we strive to treat all patients with the care and dignity they deserve. Restore Sight has developed a long-term commitment to the communities we serve. Our missions have created a lasting impact and have helped to ensure many years of cooperation between the communities, The Lions Club, and Restore Sight. The Missions would not be possible without donations from our generous benefactors and sponsors. The responsibility involved with managing a non-profit has helped us to maximize our impact while minimizing our costs. As a non profit we take our financial accountability very seriously. Each donation has a purpose, and we endeavor to incur minimal costs that are not directly related to the care of our patients. Donations to Restore Sight are recognized as charitable donations under U.S. IRS Code Section 501 (c) (3); speak to your financial planner for more information. Your donations will help our team continue it's important, life-changing, sight restoring work.
